Hey Guys! SSG Sholihin and Myself just returned from Camp Pinnacle and I'm proud to say, that this is one of the best camps ever. We had great fun, made new friends, and learnt new things in the process as well. Here are our experiences:
DAY 1:
We arrived in the camp, and left for SISPEC shortly after. There, we had this survival training programme where we had the opportunity to learn basic jungle training skills. We were taught how to make shelters, such as the "A-Frame" shelter, in which you could live in for several days. Next, the sirs taught us how to cook in the wild. He taught us how to catch those animals by using traps, and also which parts to eat, and not to eat. It was a bloody scene, and it was definitely not for the kind-hearted. We killed animals such as Frogs, Chickens, Quails, Eels, Crabs and Catfish. It was an experience not to forget!
Day 2:
We were brought to the RSAF Where we saw the planes in action. The best bit no doubt, was the ride on the C130 plane. It was great, and we were one of the lucky ones to do so. We were also given a talk from, the Air Force Recruitment centre. They were obviously trying to convince us to join the RSAF. We did other things as well, such as to go to the Flight Simulation Centre.
DAY 3:
Day 3 wasn't much as all we did was to go to the SYFC (Singapore Youth Flying Club). This was a place in which you could go to, if you aspire to be a pilot. Once you join, with the right guidance, you could pursue a private flight license. Once you do that, you could either join the RSAF Or Singapore Airlines. We also went to the Air Force museum, where we learnt on the history and past of our nation's air force.
DAY 4:
On this day, we were brought to the Navy. We toured two of our warships, the frigate, (and I can't remember the second one). The ships were huge, and there were lots of insights that we got to know about those ships. We were also brought to the NDU (Naval Divers Unit), where the Navy divers were trained. We saw a performance from the divers, and got a boat ride. At night, we had this night called as "Camp Pinnacle Night". Each platoon had to come up with a performance. The performances were great, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
So that definitely raps up our experiences in Camp Pinnacle. We have more to say but its hard to explain. I'm glad I got the opportunity to go to this camp.
With Regards,
